Join us for the launch of Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, as translated into Afrikaans by Robert Schall, on Thursday the 9th of May from 15:30 to 17:00 in Jannie se Leeskamer. The poet and author in conversation with Schall, Bernard Odendaal, will discuss not only the challenges with Schall, but also about the great pleasure in working on this new rhyming translation, which aimed to reproduce both the poetic characteristics and the humour of Goethe’s text.
