Diane Awerbuck is a prizewinning writer, reviewer, editor and teacher. She writes femme/goth thrillers, memoirs, pandemic thrillers, doctorates on trauma, poetry and short story collections. Inside your body there are flowers is her latest, SALA-nominated publication.
Alex Latimer is an award-winning picture book author based in Cape Town. He has also written three novels. Extinction, published here for the first time, was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize. Love Stories for Ghosts is his debut collection of hopeful stories about living, dying and falling in love, with photographs by Guy Neveling.
Karen Jennings is a South African writer whose novel An Island was longlisted for the Booker Prize in 2021. She is currently writer-in-residence as a post-doctoral fellow at the Laboratory for the Economics of Africa’s Past (LEAP), Stellenbosch University. In Crooked Seeds, Karen Jennings weaves a singularly powerful novel about post-apartheid South Africa, a story of fractured families, collective guilt and how we can begin to break free.
