Join publisher and poet Michèle Betty, along with award-winning Dryad Press poets Professor Sally Ann Murray and Sarah Uheida, for an immersive workshop and conversation: The Architecture of Verse.

Explore the art of poetry as the panel shares creative insights, discusses their sources of inspiration, and guides participants through spontaneous, hands-on writing exercises. This interactive session invites the audience to participate actively – whether you’re honing your voice or discovering it for the first time, come ready to write, reflect, and engage.

Michèle Betty’s poems have been published in various journals and anthologies, both locally and internationally, earning her the 2023 South African Literary Award for Poetry, among others.

Sarah Uheida’s poetry and lyrical short stories have been published widely in both South African and international anthologies. Her debut collection, Not This Tender, is an exploration of memory and remembrance, and examines the landscape of war-torn North Africa, from which she had to flee as a child.

Professor Sally Ann Murray is affiliated with the Department of English at Stellenbosch University. Her third collection of poetry, Otherwise Occupied (2019), was nominated for the 2020 South African Literary Award.
